צֶדֶק tsedeq {tseh’-dek} righteousness

If someone would ask, “What is the nation of Israel’s purpose?” or “What is the function of Israelites as God’s own people?”   For me, the best answer to these questions is the prophesy found in Isaiah 42:6, where God assigns the behavior of His people to be demonstrated as צֶדֶק tsedeq, or God’s righteousness.  This is not to say that Israel’s behavior compared to the holiness of God, however, God was willing to vindicate them because of the actions of one man.  For example, God found Abraham to be faithful and He was willing to establish an unequal relationship. Unequal, in the sense that God is holy, powerful and has absolutely no need for man.  Nevertheless, when righteous conduct is seen in the earth, even God has to take notice. As an act of kindness, Adonai (the God Israel) gave the descendants of Abraham the secrets to living above judgment.  This divine favor is found in the Torah (Book of instructions.)

Isaiah 42:6 “I, the LORD, have called you to demonstrate my righteousness. I will take you by the hand and guard you, and I will give you to my people, Israel, as a symbol of my covenant with them. And you will be a light to guide the nations. (Isa 42:6 NLT)

Sadly, a spiritual blindness has fallen on the world and righteousness is no longer the objective of the Lord’s Church.  The behaviors of some of God’s saints have become worldly.  They want the freedom to express their own fleshly cravings, rather than being expressions of Light to direct people out of darkness. This spiritual blindness will become so powerful that every house of faith will be affected.

16 I will lead blind Israel down a new path, guiding them along an unfamiliar way. I will brighten the darkness before them and smooth out the road ahead of them. Yes, I will indeed do these things; I will not forsake them.

17 But those who trust in idols, who say, ‘You are our gods,’ will be turned away in shame.

18 “Listen, you who are deaf! Look and see, you blind!

19 Who is as blind as my own people, my servant? Who is as deaf as my messenger? Who is as blind as my chosen people, the servant of the LORD?

20 You see and recognize what is right but refuse to act on it. You hear with your ears, but you don’t really listen.” (Isa 42:16-20 NLT)

Today, you may begin to see drastic changes in the Body of Christ.  This is because the church is no longer walking in the love of Jesus Christ.  Without the true love of God, the Body is unable to function together as a living organism. I believe that in the last days broken relationships will increase.  Tragically, division in the Body can even be the cause of some ministries closing.

The new goal of the game is “winning” instead of “living” as examples. Unless churches come together as conquerors of darkness instead of trying to conquer one another; I am afraid that our ability to win the lost might be futile.
