Let there be light 5

One of the most important lessons for a young believer is a good Biblical foundation about the fall of Satan.  Believers should know the role of the devil, his age-old strategies, and that he is trying to overthrow God’s authority.  While believers may know that Satan will never be able to successfully over-rule God’s authority; unfortunately, some are unaware that he has won victories over individuals’ personal lives.  This has happened more times than is taught or discussed. Silence is participation.

To understand spiritual warfare a little better, both the Christian and the Messianic should know that Satan’s name was very differentllight13 before his fall. His name was הֵילֵל {Lucifer} which means “light-bearer.” or “son of the morning.”

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (Isa 14:12 KJV)

The Complete Jewish Bible   12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world.

13 For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. (Isa 14:12-13 NLT)

01966 הֵילֵל heylel {hay-lale’}                                                                      Meaning:  Lucifer = “light-bearer” 1) shining one, morning star, Lucifer 1a) of the king of Babylon and Satan (fig.)

According to the Strong’s Concordance, word number “01984,” carries the meaning as a sense of brightness.

An arch angel at his creation, with a splendidly fashioned body which reflected the glory that exuded from the Throne of God. Lucifer was the highest most classification of angels in God’s Kingdom.

12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. (Eze 28:12-15 KJV)

Now, Lucifer has lost his job of reflecting the light that radiates from the presence of God.  That job has been given to the saints and Lucifer is upset.

The devil knows he can never touch Adonai, the God of Israel, but he knows he can touch God’s heart by attacking His people. Lucifer knows he has the ability to hurt God if he can get the saints to reflect malevolent light. In other words, the devil will deceive God’s chosen ones into reflecting his behavior instead of reflecting God’s Light.  This type of behavior strengthens the devil’s stronghold in the earth.

What people need to know today is that God’s plan of salvation cannot be earned by just being a good person.  Good behavior will only produce an unsaved person with good manners. Real salvation is materialized when a person invites Yeshua {Jesus} into his or her heart and makes Him, Lord.  The kind of behavior demonstrated from this new creature is Godly character. The evidence of Jesus’ presence in a person’s life is when he/she miraculously and spiritually grows into an awareness of and obedience to His Will. An understanding of God’s Will causes self-control that produces a moral obligation to do what is right. It’s called “light from heaven”.  This is how God transforms us into “children of light”. When true believers develop a yearning for light, it guides them throughout the rest of their lives.

blind-manJesus made a statement that I thought was very strange.  He said to a blind man:  “I am the light of the world.”

5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Jesus continues,

 6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,

 7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

 Later on in the passage, we read that the man was kicked out of the synagogue because he argued with the Pharisees over the fact that Jesus was an authentic man of God. Jesus had apparently downloaded supernatural knowledge into the heart of the blind man which caused him to have un-learned-before understanding of God’s plan for salvation. How could this poor blind man have seen Christ since he was blind from birth? The Lord, Himself had placed the knowledge of His kingdom into the blind man’s heart.

35 When Jesus heard what had happened, he found the man and asked, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”

 36 The man answered, “Who is he, sir? I want to believe in him.”

The next Scripture is so amazing to me!  Listen to what Jesus replies:  He tells the blind man, “You have seen me, already.”

 37 “You have seen him,” Jesus said, “and he is speaking to you!”

 38 “Yes, Lord, I believe!” the man said. And he worshiped Jesus.

 39 Then Jesus told him, “I entered this world to render judgment– to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.” (Joh 9:35-39 NLT)

 12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (Joh 8:12 KJV)

Then, Jesus tells him about a Kingdom of Light {a kingdom of information that can only be discerned through Godly behavior, a person’s deeds. Furthermore, this is the new method in which God will share His Word.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. (Mat 5:14 KJV)

Silence is participation

  17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

 19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

 20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

 21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Eph 4:17-24 KJV)
