Jugement Day

 Judgment Day

Planet in dangerI have a question for the Body of Christ. What does the term “Summer Harvest” mean to the Church? The answer by most Church members would be “Halloween.”  This time of the year is very important because the date on the Hebraic Calendar is a very serious matter.

Rosh Hashanah appears as part of the Jewish feast of “Summer Harvest” which sounds festive, but the harvest represents Judgment day. It’s also the time when the trumpet announces God’s judgment over man and the rest of His creation. Yom ha-Din is when the Jews would come in His presence since all creation owe Him alliance.  Following the summer harvest is (Yom Teruah), the fall feast that commemorates the LORD receiving His Bride, known by the community of believers as the “Rapture.” This sacred season, called by Messianic believers as “Yom Adonai” or “The Days of Awe” finishes as the Yom Kippur which is the Day of Atonement.  The Day of Atonement is a time of repentance and forgiving one another.  Those who trusted in the merits of the sacrificial lamb, and by the evidence of the lamb’s purity were sheltered and secure. Likewise, as we are forgiven through Messiah’s sacrifice and His victory over death and banishment, we faithfully wait on His return.

Believers should keep ourselves sanctified from the pollutions of thebutcherly spirit realm.  We must avoid all forms of spiritual adultery, such as celebrating feasts that honor anyone other than our worship of the sovereign God of Israel.  The devil is crafty at tricking people, even believers, with fun and games.  His strategy is to do whatever he can to get God’s people to sit at his table.

Believers are not allowed to drink both the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot share the table of the Lord and the table of demons. When we find pleasure and enjoyment at the enemy’s table, the blindness has already begun.

 Day of Judgment

When Christ becomes jealous

1Corinthians 10:19-22 What, then, do I mean? Am I saying that an idol sacrifice is anything, or that an idol is anything?

20 On the contrary, what they sacrifice they offer to demons, and not to God. I do not want you to be in community with demons.

21 You are not able to drink both the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot share the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

22 Or would we cause the Lord to be jealous? We are not stronger than he, are we? (MIT)

NLT  Ezekiel 20:39 As for you, O people of Israel, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Go right ahead and worship your idols, but sooner or later you will obey me and will stop bringing shame on my holy name by worshiping idols. (Eze 20:39 NLT)

MIT  1 John 3:10 Here is how to differentiate God’s children from the devil’s children: Everyone who does not practice righteousness and love his brother is not a descendant of God. (1Jo 3:10 MIT)

CJB  Ephesians 6:11 Use all the armor and weaponry that God provides, so that you will be able to stand against the deceptive tactics of the Adversary.

Dark omenDuring Halloween, many adults argue that “It’s only candy and games for the kids, and we should keep the kids happy.”  Some would say, “If the Bible doesn’t call it sin, then we have liberty to enjoy anything we want.”  Furthermore, adults often get encumbered with the preparation of decorations, outrageous costumes, and parties to commemorate this day .  They consider it to be fun and harmless.  This is where I disagree.

The Bible clearly teaches the difference between “sin” and “encumbrance.”

The Greek for weight or encumbrance ogkos {ong’-kos}

3591 γκος ogkos {ong’-kos}

Meaning:  1) whatever is prominent, protuberance, bulk, mass 1a) hence a burden, weight, encumbrance

Sin is the act of disobeying God’s Word, however, to become encumbered is to be burdened down with weights.  For example, a runner who has weights on his ankles would not be able to run as swift or be able to endure in a race.  While, the ankle weights are not a sin, they do present a serious problem for the runner.  Our Christian walk is a type of race.  We can become entangled with ungodly things that gives the devil place to hinder us from finishing the race.

MIT  Hebrews 12:1 For that very reason we, too, having so many witnesses enveloping us like a cloud, ought to lay aside every encumbrance and the sin that would easily entangle us. Let us run the race that stretches out ahead of us with endurance.

2139 εὐπερίστατος euperistatos {yoo-per-is’-tat-os}

Meaning:  1) skillfully surrounding i.e. besetting

8 If you are exempt from correction in which all share, then you are illegitimate, not sons.

9 Furthermore, our natural fathers were disciplinarians, and we were respecting them. Should we not all that much more be in subjection to the father of spirits and thrive? (Heb 12:8-9 MIT)

  1. I have followed your blog for a while. Thanks for giving references that allows me to read more and to become more informed in my faith. The topics you present are real and in many cases are not those that would be discussed in a regular assembly.
